January 2013

That was my first festive season in the shop and I was fairly pleased with the way things went in December. I stayed open till 1800 on xmas eve and provided free coffe & mince pies (courtesy of mum). A busy day and the shelves were looking a bit bare at closing time. Predictably January is very quiet and I will be lucky to break even, considering selling tumbleweed... No matter I will continue to open as I have regular customers and don't want to confuse them by closing on random days.

Despite the lack of customers I have been busy restocking and the shop is looking good. More fair trade items are on the shelf, a selection of mango wood bowls arrive next week and I am increasing the good causes bookshelf capacity thanks to more donations.

Ullapool Box Creations have produced a new line of USB drives contained in an exotic wood shell, these make unique presents as well as having a useful 4GB capacity.

I have acquired a spinning wheel that was made locally around 50 years ago. It is missing the drive belt and foot pedal strap so if you know what materials are needed just pop in and have a chat.

Just a few pics to show what is new:
